KUALA LUMPUR: Power supply in Penang, which was disrupted following the worst floods to hit the state last Sunday, was restored at 4pm today.
In a statement today, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) said that all the 114 affected power substations had resumed operations, while 102 were connected via a temporary grid and another 12 were supplied through mobile power generator sets.
TNB also reminded the public not to remove fallen electricity cables for fear of possible electric shock.
As of 2pm today, only 2,670 people from 688 families were still stationed at flood relief centres in Penang, compared to 3,213 victims this morning. — Bernama
