Aeon, WCT shares remain unchanged despite suit

PETALING JAYA: Shares of Aeon Co (M) Bhd and WCT Holdings Bhd remained unchanged this morning despite news of the former filing a suit against the latter’s unit, Gemilang Waras Sdn Bhd.
At 11.19am, Aeon’s share price stood at RM2 with a total of 24,500 shares traded while WCT’s share price stood at RM1.68 with a total of 283,500 shares traded.
Yesterday, Aeon told Bursa Malaysia that it has filed a suit against Gemilang Waras at the Kuala Lumpur High Court to renew its lease for Aeon Mall Bukit Tinggi.
The company is seeking court intervention to stop Gemilang Waras and those tied to the company from terminating the lease agreement dated Nov 23, 2007 and from trying to evict the company or its tenants from Aeon Mall Bukit Tinggi, pending the court’s decision.
