KUALA LUMPUR: Two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers were detained on suspicion that they were high on drugs at an entertainment outlet in Brickfields here, around midnight last night.
MACC deputy commissioner (Operations), Datuk Seri Azam Baki said the duo, aged 33 and 35, were nabbed by a team from the city police's Anti-Narcotics Department after urine screening.
"I can confirm two MACC officers were arrested and have been placed on four days remand from today to assist investigations," he told Bernama.
Azam said MACC would give its full cooperation to the police on the matter and wanted firm action to be taken against any of its officers found to be on drugs.
He said MACC as an entity of high integrity would not tolerate any officer found to be involved in crimes. — Bernama
