CYBERJAYA: Sterling Prima Sdn Bhd has completed its maiden 960 units of affordable housing development two months ahead of the schedule.
Its Group's Executive Director, Ahmad Khalif Mustapha Kamal, said the project, MasReca n19eteen, which was launched in 2014, was supposed to be completed in January 2018 under the Rumah Selangorku housing scheme.
He said the homeowners would receive the keys to their homes from next month until Feb next year.
"We want to cater to the needs of low- and middle-income buyers. So we built our first project, introducing a compact community living concept.
"This MasRca n19eteen project will meet the shortage of affordable housing in Cyberjaya, which aims to be a full-fledged self-contained development to suit the well-being of the community," he told reporters at the symbolic key handover ceremony at Cyber 10 here today.
Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali handed keys to 10 selected buyers.
Sterling Prima, a joint-venture between the Emkay Group and Areca Properties, developed the project, which has a gross development value of RM347 million, he said.
"Each apartment has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a built-up area of 850sq ft," he said.
Ahmad Khalif said each apartment was priced between RM200,000 and RM250,000.
An additional RM30,000 would be added for selected units which would include furnishings like the kitchen cabinet, cooker hood and hob, refrigerator, built-in microwave oven, washing machine, two units of fans and air conditioners and wardrobes for all bedrooms, he said.
"Sterling Prima will build a mosque, dialysis centre within the vicinity, as well as 2,000 car parks," he said, adding that each unit would be provided with free WiFi for two years.
On the company's future project, Ahmad Khalif said, the group would build its second affordable homes with 3,000 units at Cyber 10, and they were expected to be completed in 2019.
Each unit, which would cost above RM350,000, would have three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a built-up area of 1,000 sq feet.
"The project will be built in three phases," he said. — Bernama
