Zahid to deliver keynote address at WCES in Hong Kong

PUTRAJAYA: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will address the 9th World Chinese Economic Summit (WCES), a premier international event for business linkages, in the course of his two-day working visit to Hong Kong beginning today.
Ahmad Zahid, who is the guest of honour of the 9th WCES, will deliver a keynote address during the Patron's Dinner today.
"Malaysia's participation at the 9th WCES will enhance connectivity and business linkages between Malaysia, China and other Southeast Asian and European countries," Ahmad Zahid said in a statement released today in conjunction with his participation in the summit, themed "Managing Global Uncertainty: Exploring New Opportunities".
The WCES started off as the World Chinese Economic Forum (WCEF) eight years ago. It is a flagship event created by the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute (ASLI) to enhance connectivity and business linkages between China and Southeast Asia and China and Europe in line with the Chinese leadership's Belt and Road Initiative.
Ahmad Zahid is also scheduled to present lifetime achievement awards at the WCES to various distinguished leaders who have contributed enormously to regional and community development. — Bernama
