Father of six denies raping 12-year-old girl

MALACCA: A father of six pleaded not guilty in the sessions court in Ayer Keroh here today to a charge of raping a 12-year-old girl, three years ago.
The man, 32, allegedly committed the offence on his younger brother's friend in a house in Jasin here, between 1pm and 4pm, sometime in February 2014.
The accused who worked as a coconut plucker faces Section 376(2) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail term of 30 years and liable to whipping, on conviction.
Judge Meor Sulaiman Ahmad Tarmizi allowed the accused bail of RM15,000 with one surety, and set Dec 13 for re-mention of the case for submission of documents and appointment of lawyer.
The prosecution was handled by prosecuting officer ASP Nora Yaacob, while the accused was unrepresented. — Bernama
