Man who attacked MPSJ officer with pepper spray gets five-months jail sentence

PETALING JAYA: An unemployed man who attacked a Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) enforcement officer with pepper spray was sentenced to a five-month jail term and fined RM3,000, in default three months jail, by a magistrate's court here today.
Magistrate Nurulhuda Zakariya ordered the sentences on Leng Wan Kwan to run from yesterday.
Leng paid the fine.
She handed down the sentence after the 50-year-old father of two pleaded guilty to the offence under Section 353 of the Penal Code.
Leng was charged with using criminal force to deter MPSJ enforcement officer Norsafuan Nordin from performing his duties by releasing pepper spray into his eyes.
The offence was committed at a parking lot at Jalan Puteri 1/4, Bandar Puteri, Puchong here at 12.40pm on Nov 7.
