Call for IPT students to apply for public transport concession card

KUALA LUMPUR: All higher education institution (IPT) students are encouraged to apply for a concession card to enjoy 50% discount on public transport fares in the Klang Valley.
Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh said the call was also to encourage the students to make optimal use of public transport and hence reduce their daily cost and travel time.
"It will also reduce public dependency on cars and promote green or eco-friendly lifestyle," he told reporters during the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Ride with IPT Students at the Kajang Stadium MRT Station near here today.
The minister said the concession card application could be made at the concession registration counter at the Pasar Seni Bus Terminal with a fee of RM15.
Approximately 200 students from various universities, polytechnics and community colleges participated in the ride which began at the Tun Razak Exchange MRT Station to the Kajang Stadium MRT Station. — Bernama
