Dr Mahathir explains why PPBM has not held its AGM yet

KUALA LUMPUR: The failure of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) to hold its first annual general meeting as required by the Registrar of Societies (RoS) is due to the fact that it has yet to do so at the branch and division levels.
The party's chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that if the lower levels had not done with their respective meetings, it would be impossible for them to send representatives to the party's AGM.
"At the moment, we have not organised the meetings yet because in order to have the AGM, we have to start with the meetings of cawangan (branches) first, then bahagian (division)level, then only we can determine who will attend the AGM," he told a press conference at the Parliament lobby today.
Yesterday, the party's secretary-general Datuk Dr Shahruddin Md Salleh was grilled by RoS following complaints that the top leadership had failed to comply with the party's constitution.
Shahruddin was summoned after eight PPBM divisions in Johor made complaints to the RoS that the PPBM top leadership failed to comply with the party's constitution, including the failure of all PPBM branches and divisions to hold the meetings, despite its establishment one year ago. — Bernama
