Ringgit ends marginally lower

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit ended marginally lower against the US dollar today as traders were on standby mode, awaiting the release of Malaysia's third quarter Malaysia's gross domestic product (GDP) results tomorrow.
At 6 pm, the local unit was traded at 4.1750/1780 against the greenback from 4.1730/1760 on Tuesday.
OANDA Head of Trading Asia-Pacific, Stephen Innes, said investors were favourable towards Asian currencies despite the sell-off in regional equities.
The ringgit was traded mixed against a basket of major currencies.
It declined against the Singapore dollar to 3.0769/0811 from 3.0765/0792 yesterday and decreased against the British pound to 5.5031/5079 from 5.4817/4873 on Wednesday.
The local note strengthened versus the euro to 4.9156/9208 from Wednesday's 4.9404/9444 and improved vis-a-vis the yen to 3.6872/6908 from yesterday's 3.6988/6025. – Bernama
