27 unhygienic eateries in Seremban get clean-up order

SEREMBAN: Twenty-seven eatery owners and operators have been ordered by Negeri Sembilan Health Department to close for two weeks and clean up their premises.
Department director Dr Zainudin Mohd Ali said the temporary closure order was made under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983.
He said the 27 food premises were among 59 inspected by 42 district health officers in a nine-hour operation from 9am on Wednesday.
In a statement today, he said 147 notices were also issued under Section 32B of the same Act, involving compounds totalling RM32,400.
"From Jan till Sept this year, 5,675 food premises were inspected, with 125 issued the temporary closure order.

"In the same period,1,527 notices under Section 32B were issued to eatery owners and operators for various violations of the Food Hygiene Regulations 2009, involving RM299,650 in compounds," he said.
Dr Zainudin said 6,358 food premises were inspected throughout 2016, with 124 ordered to close temporarily.
A total of 737 notices under Section 32B were issued to owners and operators of food premises, involving RM260,550 in compounds, he added. — Bernama
