Do not send anonymous complaints to MACC

KUANTAN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) advised the public, especially civil servants, against sending anonymous complaints to the agency to avoid negative impact, including creating an atmosphere of disharmony and misunderstanding.
Pahang MACC operations deputy director Ab Munien Ibrahim said most of the anonymous complaints received by the agency contained inaccurate information and were based on personal views.
"Do not send us anonymous complaints because we found that 99% of the information provided by the anonymous senders is not accurate, but we will investigate the matter if there is basis in the allegation.
"However, most of the anonymous complaints that we received were based on suspicion, dissatisfaction among the subordinate staff and happened where there's a promotion exercise in the department," he told a press conference after the corruption-free pledge (IBR) ceremony by the Pahang Farmers' Organisation here today.
Also present were Pahang Farmers Association (Pasfa) board member Datuk Mustaffar Kamal Ab Hamid and Deputy Director-General (Development) Farmers' Organisation Authority Hamzah Bahari. — Bernama
