Six including Indonesian women face gallows after drug bust

KUALA LUMPUR: Six suspects, including an Indonesian woman, are facing the gallows after they were arrested during separate drug operations here and in Klang.
Kuala Lumpur narcotics criminal investigation department (NCID) chief ACP Adnan Azizon said the suspects, aged between 20 and 29, were detained on Saturday after being found in possession of Erimin 5 pills, Ketamine powder, Ecstacy pills, Ganja, Syabu and drug-laced soft drinks.
"We believe all of them are from separate syndicates supplying drugs in the city. During the raid, the Dang Wangi NCID nabbed a local man and an Indonesian woman in a condominium along Jalan Sultan Ismail here.
"Police found 200 Erimin 5 pills and 316g of Syabu when they raided their condominium unit," he said in a statement today.
Adnan added in the second raid, police nabbed a man in an entertainment outlet at Pudu here who then led investigators to seize several drugs.
"We believe the man was responsible to distribute Ketamine, Erimin 5 pills, Ganja and Ecstacy pills. Police also realised that the suspect was the main guy behind the distribution of drug-laced soft drinks in the outlet," he added.
The third raid was conducted by the Wangsa Maju NCID where a man was nabbed in possession of 10 packets containing Syabu powders and dry Ganja leaves weighing 13kg.
The man was detained at a People's Housing Project (PPR) at Jalan Hiliran Ampang here.
The suspects have been remanded until Nov 24 and they are being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which carries the mandatory death sentence on conviction.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, South Klang district police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said the district's anti-narcotics police detained two unemployed men believed to be drug dealers on Nov 16.
The duo led investigators to the discovery of a drug store in a house at Jalan Tepi Sungai, here.
"Police seized 2,900 Ecstacy pills and 27,000 Erimin 5 pills both weighing a total of 9kg from the house," he said.
The drugs were meant for local consumption and for distribution at entertainment outlets in Klang Valley.
