UniMAP's activities inline with IR 4.0

BAKU, Azerbaijan: Universiti Malaysia Perlis' (UniMAP) involvement with the industrial sector has not only generated the production of engineers for the country but is also in tandem with the needs of Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0).
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, said the university's cooperation with the private sector also helped in ensuring relevancy of study programmes with current needs.
The ruler, who is UniMAP chancellor, said this when heading a UniMAP delegation on a visit to the headquarters of Petronas Azerbaijan (Shah Deniz) S.A.R.L. at Marine Plaza near here yesterday.
He said the win-win situation that was practised in the context of strategic networking with the private sector had also helped to increase the marketability of graduates from UniMAP.
For example, 89% of its graduates from the School of Environment Engineering were able to secure jobs before their convocation last October, Materials Engineering (91%), Micro-electronic Engineering (92%), Centre for Human Development Studies and Telecommunication (96%) and faculty of Technological Engineering (85%), he said.
UniMAP, he said, also had two of its lecturers involved in the 'Programme CEO Faculty 2.0 Coached by the Pros' organised by the Higher Education Ministry.
During the visit, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra was briefed on Petronas' operations in Azerbaijan by Azerbaijan Petronas operation head, Hanafi Talib.
Accompany the ruler during the visit were Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Datuk Roslan Abdul Rahman and UniMAP deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Dr Mohd Fo'ad Sakdan. – Bernama
