181 flood relief centres in Negri Sembilan registered under JKM

KUALA PILAH: A total of 181 flood relief centres in Negeri Sembilan have been registered under the Social Welfare Department (JKM) to ensure smooth preparation in the event of flood or other disasters.
Negri Sembilan State Secretary Datuk Seri Mat Ali Hassan (pix) said the relief centres comprised schools, community halls, grand halls and sports complex.
"The supervisors for the centres comprise headmasters, village security and development committee chairmen and federal resident representative committee chairmen. They will be responsible for the relief centres under their purview.
"A total of 1,069 rescue personnel, with different expertise and functions, from various agencies are ready to be mobilised during an emergency," he said at the closing ceremony of the Relief Centre Management Briefing for Disaster Preparedness here today.
