PETALING JAYA: Thirty-two AirAsia flights to and from Bali and Lombok have been cancelled, while two others rescheduled, following the eruption of Mount Agung in Bali late Saturday.
The airline, in a statement, said affected guests would be notified via their registered e-mail addresses of their flight status and the available options to them.
It said guests whose flights were cancelled are entitled to change to a new travel time on the same route within 30 calendar days from the original flight time without additional cost and subject to seat availability.
Guests are also given the option to retain the value of their fare in a credit account for future travels with AirAsia.
Malaysia Airlines (MAS), meanwhile, said all its flights to and from Bali are operating as per schedule.
“The airline is closely monitoring the situation and will update passengers should there be any changes to its flight schedule,” it said today.
A spokesperson from Malindo Air also confirmed that none of its flights have been cancelled as at press time.
Indonesia's Volcanology and Geological Disaster Mitigation Centre has raised its flight alert level from orange to red today, as Mount Agung continued to a spew significant amount of ash.
