All eyes on three Chinese brothers at mass circumcision

JITRA: Three brothers from the Chinese community became the centre of focus at the Taman Mahsuri Community Hall here today, on their participation in a mass circumcision event.
Lee You Jin, four, You Quan, seven, and Ming Xuan, 10, joined 57 other children, aged between four and 11, in the programme organised by the Taman Mahsuri Neighbourhood Watch.
Their father, Lee Kaw Seng, 40, said the decision to have his children circumcised followed an invitation from his Malay friends.
"I didn't force them. In fact, they decided to be circumcised because we know the goodness of circumcision, and that it's good for family bonding," he told reporters here.
Kaw Seng said Ming Xuan was initially scared and jittery but the boy overcame his fear after receiving words of comfort from his Malay peers.

"It was fun, the pain was minimal … I'm glad that it is over," said Ming Xuan.
The boys' grandmother, Bok Yat Choo, 59, said circumcision was not so foreign to the community, and that she would be involved in preparing suitable meals for the boys during the recovery period so that they would recover faster. — Bernama
