Sarikei RTD complex expected ready in 2020

BINTANGOR: The Sarikei Road Transport Department (RTD) Complex, currently under construction at a cost of RM22 million, at Km5 Jalan Repok, Sarikei, is expected to be ready in early 2020.
Sarawak RTD director Mohd Syafiq Anas Abdullah (pix) said earth work for the complex, on a site covering 12 acres, was in progress.
The complex, besides housing the RTD office, will also be equipped with sport facilities, he said at the closing of the " Satu Komuniti Satu JPJ Khas" programme by Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing here today.
Under the programme, 2,666 people, aged 16 and above, were issued with motorcycle licence. Since the programme was introduced in 2009, a total of 21,283 people were issued with motorcycle licence. — Bernama
