576 receive federal awards, medals from King

KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V today presented 2017 federal awards and medals to 576 people who were bestowed the honours earlier this year.
Heading the list of recipients was the president of the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services (Cuepacs), Datuk Azih Muda, who received the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara which carries the title "Datuk".
Other recipients of the award included Director of Internal Security and Public Order Datuk Seri Muhammad Sabtu Osman; Hulu Bernam (Selangor) assemblyman Datuk Rosni Sohar; Sibuti (Sarawak) MP Ahmad Lai Bujang; Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) Fleet Commander Vice Admiral Datuk Seri Mohamad Roslan Mohamad Ramli and Bukit Aman Special Branch director Datuk Seri Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff.
Meanwhile, the sole recipient of the Panglima Jasa Negara (Honorary) award which also carries the title Datuk was Daihatsu Motor Company Ltd director Datuk Shigeharu Toda.
Ten people, among them director-general of the Malaysian Armed Forces Veteran Affairs Department Maj Gen Datuk Mohamad Khir Abdullah and Army Chief of Staff Datuk Mohd Nazir Mami received the Johan Mangku Negara (JMN) award.
Thirty-three individuals received the Darjah Johan Setia Mahkota, among them Johor Police chief Datuk Mohd Khalil Kader Mohd, National Disaster Management Agency director (Operations Implementation Division) DCP Datuk Azizan Abu Taat, Ministry of Home Affairs Crime Prevention Board member DCP Datuk Mazupi Abdul Rahman and Shah Alam Sessions Court Judge Datin Nursinah Adzmi.
A total of 103 individuals received the Darjah Kesatria Mangku Negara (KMN); 10 received the Darjah Kesatria Setia Diraja (KSD); 147 the Darjah Ahli Mangku Negara (AMN); Pingat Pangkuan Negara (PPN) (229), and 35 the Darjah Bentara Setia Diraja.
Two individuals received the Darjah Panglima Gagah Berani award for bravery, namely Datuk Doktor Leong Chee Woh and Mad Radzi Mad Isa. — Bernama
