AG'S Report: Praise for THTS financial performance for record profits from 2014-2016

KUALA LUMPUR: TH (Tabung Haji) Travel and Services Sdn Bhd (THTS), a subsidiary company wholly-owned by TH Hotel & Residence Sdn Bhd , has recorded good financial performance by achieving a pre-tax profit every year from 2014 until 2016.
According to the Auditor-General's Report 2016 Series 2, tabled in the Dewan Rakyat today, THTS' pre-tax profit in 2014 amounted to RM20.30 million, RM26.95 million (2015) and RM26.78 million (2016), contributed by its five main activities, especially umrah (minor haj) packages.
The report said based on audits conducted between January and May 2017, the company's accumulated profit also had showed an increase of RM87.55 million in 2014, RM98.07 million (2015) and RM109.68 million (2016).
THTS was established to conduct water, marine and air businesses involving umrah package management, tours, Haj packages, Haj charter (transportation) and tickets selling.
According to the report, based on the 2015/2016 Umrah Visa statistics obtained from the Saudi Arabian Embassy and the National Audit Department, THTS was ranked in second place compared to other 64 competitors in the same industry.
The report also said, an analysis of customer satisfaction level found the pilgrims were generally satisfied with the THTS' umrah programmes with the overall assessment of the programme achieving 81%. — Bernama
