Nazli said over 150 airport and general taxis were inspected, and 20 of them were issued with summons for offences such as heavy tinting and expired commercial vehicle licenses.
He said police and SPAD had also issued summonses on four vehicles for other traffic offences.
Nazli said the impromptu operation was conducted between 9.30am and 3pm jointly with police, the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) and the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD), to ensure public transportation, especially taxi services at KLIA was in order, adhered to traffic laws and was safe for the public.
He said it was the first time the operation codenamed "Ops Khas Perkhidmatan Awam" was carried out at the season parking area of KLIA where cabbies park their vehicles.
