Suspects who stole RM150k from armoured van near bank remanded

PETALING JAYA: The remand on four security guards who were arrested for allegedly being involved in an incident where three bags containing RM150,000 cash were stolen from an armoured van in front of a bank in Sri Serdang has been extended until Thursday.
Serdang district police chief ACP Megat Mohamad Aminuddin Megat Alias (pix) said police are still in the midst of probing the case from all angles including the possibility of an inside job.
It was reported that on Friday, two men wearing full-faced helmets, committed the crime by opening the side door of the vehicle and grabbing the bags, before fleeing on a motorcycle at about 10.30am.
There were two security guards in the van at the time, while two others were inside the bank.
Earlier the four men who were picked up right after the incident were remanded until Tuesday, no other suspects have been arrested so far.
Investigators are also going through closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footages from the bank and other premises nearby.
Roadblocks have also been initiated to track down the two robbers.
