SIBU: All branch-level members of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) have been urged to explain the party's future development plans for Sarawak to the public.
PBB president Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the development policy of the party, which is the backbone of the Sarawak Government, had been fully explained at the leadership level.
Sarawak, he said, had shifted from a more conventional to high-tech approach to improve the state's economy, whereby infrastructure work for that purpose had begun, and was expected to be completed within two years.
"At the same time, we need to prepare the people to use technology, including in agriculture, and here, PBB branches can play their role in educating the farmers," added Abang Johari, who is also Sarawak Chief Minister.
A total of 1,200 delegates and observers from nine PBB branches in Zone 8, namely, Pakan, Meluan, Ngemah, Machan, Tamin, Pelagus, Katibas, Bukit Goram and Baleh attended the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, who is also PBB deputy president, PBB vice-president Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi, and several other leaders were also present. — Bernama
