Zaid's statement is stupid, insolent, treasonous: Noh Omar

KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor Umno will hold a gathering to express support for Selangor ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The party's liaison committee chairperson Tan Sri Noh Omar said the decision was made after DAP leader Datuk Zaid Ibrahim's offensive statement in reference to the sultan.
"Zaid's statement shows how he is an outdated leader.
"Today it has been proven how Zaid's statement is not only stupid and insolent, he has derhaka (committed treason) against the sultan," Noh said in a press conference held at the Putra World Trade Centre here.
Noh said the gathering will be held at Shah Alam at 11am on Sunday.
He added a police report will also be lodged against Zaid for action to be taken under the Sedition Act.
On Tuesday, Zaid had posted on social media and commented "Sultan Selangor should be careful with his words. No one is immune when the country burns".
He was responding to the sultan who had stated that Pakatan Harapan chairperson Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is an angry man who will "burn the country with his anger".
