DAP hopes to put issues with RoS behind them

PUTRAJAYA: The submission of DAP's 2015 financial statement and results of its recent Central Executive Committee (CEC) elections to the Registrar of Societies (RoS), today, will hopefully put an end to the party's uncertain status, said its national organising secretary Anthony Loke.
He said the documents supplied are in line with RoS' stipulations and regulations and that any objections with regards to the CEC elections by disgruntled parties ought to be considered null and void.
"Hopefully, the RoS will be able to issue a statement which clears party's status and allows us to smoothly prepare for the next General Election.
"I do not see any case where we would not get the green light from them (RoS)," he told reporters after handing over the documents to a RoS representative at the Home Ministry, here.
Asked about the possibility that the RoS disapproves the CEC's latest line-up, Loke said the present results will remain the status quo unless informed otherwise.
On the possibility of a single unified logo for Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the 14th General Election, Loke said the matter had been discussed within the four-party pact but no consensus had been reached.
The DAP organised its CEC elections during a special congress on Nov 12 to elect a new line-up after the RoS had disapproved the 2013 list.
In the meantime, PH has yet to get the green light for its "Star Trek"-like logo as component party Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) faces issues with the RoS regarding the status of its AGM's at the state and branch levels.
Meanwhile, on another matter Loke reiterated that PKR de-facto leaders Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim remains DAP's first choice as prime minister should Pakatan Harapan win the 14th General Election.
He was also hesitant to comment on whether the party supported the recent proposition by the coalition's leaders to put up former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Ismail as the interim prime minister and deputy prime minister candidates respectively.
