SET to open its doors in late 2018, Hero Central at Empire City in Damansara, Selangor, is aiming to be the launch pad for the latest virtual reality(VR) and augmented reality (AR) entertainment in the region.
The brainchild of US VR Global Inc, Hero Central is touted as the largest VR theme park in the world at 15,793.5 square metres.
The company also announced partnerships with three South Korean companies – CJ 4DPLEX, d'strict, and Funtory – to help bring the dream to life.
The partnership with CJ 4DPlex, which constructs and operates 4D theatres, is to incorporate the fully-immersive, virtual motion experience of 4DX VR into its signature offering, a VR roller coaster.

Rather than using computer-generated graphics, the roller coaster will instead utilise real-world images to provide riders with a ride experience that is inspired by other famous rides all over the world.
US VR Global Inc sales & marketing vice president Tengku Rozianti Tengku Mamat said: "The Hero Central VR roller coaster will be equipped to allow riders to feel the heart-pumping adrenaline of steep drops, inverted loops, and great twists and turns.
"Accelerometers and proximity sensors will be synchronised to all of the action in an incredibly-realistic 360° virtual reality world."
Tengku Rozianti added that this remarkable technology will be a definite game-changer for theme park rides, and "represents everything Hero Central stands for".
Meanwhile, design company d'strict will help to produce entertainment attractions featuring top K-pop stars, using new media technology, hyper-realistic holograms, and 3D projection mapping.
Music fans will feel as though they have front-row seats to performances by such artistes as Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1, G-Dragon, Park Mi-Kyung, Rainbow, Clon and AOA.
Finally, app developer Funtory House, which is known for creating new media playgrounds for children and families, will be bringing some of its top-notch creations to Hero Central.
These creations will bring early childhood education to a different level of excitement and fun for both adults and children.
US VR Global Inc has also signed a joint venture agreement with Raceroom Racing Experience (R3E), the global leading free-to-play motorsport simulation.
Its facility at Hero Central will feature 12 static racing car seats with regular car control features, and a screen for eSport drivers enabling them to join and compete internationally online.
For a more immersive experience using a screen and VR goggles, there are 12 motion simulator replica half-body race cars to create an exciting real-time race car driving experience for all aspiring amateur race driving enthusiasts.
