THE Afghan Bruce Lee is one step closer to becoming a famous martial artist or an actor after shooting to fame. Abbas Alizada of Afghanistan has caught the attention of action movie star Jet Li, the BBC and was recently featured in a documentary produced by RT, a Russian television network.
The 24-year-old Abbas bears a striking resemblance to the legendary Bruce Lee. He has perfected his physique and kung fu techniques to gain international recognition.
He first caught the attention of kung fu fans three years ago after posting a picture of himself striking a pose next to an image of Lee on Facebook.
Abbas was 14 when he got hooked on Bruce Lee action movies. After studying Lee's fight scenes in the films, he started to imitate his idol.
He is now a social-media sensation and could be on the brink of international stardom. Coming from a poor background, Abbas is now knocking on Hollywood's door. His rags-to-fame story is inspiring Afghan youths in an impoverished nation.
