Man nabbed for trafficking heroin worth RM18k

BUTTERWORTH: Police have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly trafficking heroin, worth about RM18,230, in a house at Sungai Dua here.
According to the North Seberang Perai district police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor, a team, led by Inspector A. Tanapalan raided the premise about 4pm on Tuesday.
Noorzainy said the police then detained the suspect, who worked as a labourer, after the police found two packets of a substance in crystal form in the second room of the premise.
"The two packets; weighing about 1,030g, is estimated at RM18,230 on the black market," he told reporters here.
Noorzainy said that the suspect had tested positive for drugs through a urine test.
He said the police had remanded the suspect for seven days, starting from today until Dec 19, for further investigations.
Noorzainy said the police would investigate the case under Section 32B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking and also Section 15 (1) (a) of the act for administering drugs to himself.
