PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak will be conferred the King Hamad Order for Development award by the King of Bahrain, King Hamad Isa Al Khalifa, tomorrow.
The Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) in a statement today said the award would be conferred to Najib at the Shaikh Hamad Palace during his three-day official visit to Bahrain starting tomorrow.
"The award is the highest award conferred by the Kingdom of Bahrain," it said.
Wisma Putra said Najib, who will be accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein during the trip, would also attend a dinner hosted by King Hamad.
It said the Prime Minister and wife were also scheduled to attend a lunch hosted by the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, Prince Salman Hamad Al Khalifa at Ghudaibiya Palace on Saturday.

Wisma Putra said Najib and Rosmah would also have an audience with Prince Salman preceding the lunch.
"Later in the afternoon, the Prime Minister and wife will attend Bahrain's National Day Ceremony at Sakhir Palace in the presence of King Hamad," it said.
Wisma Putra said the visit would further strengthen the existing friendly ties between Malaysia and Bahrain.
It said the total trade between Malaysia and Bahrain from January to September this year stood at RM805.73 million.
Total exports for the same period were recorded at RM389.10 million while total imports were RM416.63 million, Wisma Putra said. — Bernama
