IT WAS all about spreading good vibes at The Body Shop Christmas launch recently.

Celebrating the true spirit of Christmas, The Body Shop hosted a lunch for top editors and beauty bloggers from all over Malaysia where members of the media got to experience various fun-filled activities during the launch.

There were five fun activities – Crossword Puzzle, Heads Up, Find Me In The Giant Christmas Stocking, Wheel Of Fortune and Personalised Body Butter. Going through each game station allowed each and every guest a chance to win a prize.

There was also a photo booth and a pampering hand massage corner using the limited-edition Christmas body butter. Later guests were treated to a scrumptious meal.

This Christmas, The Body Shop is partnering with International Alert to help Syrian refugee children heal through play. "We want to send love and compassion to the most vulnerable and most in need. Each gift from our seasonal gift collections will support International Alert's Peace Play Program in Lebanon, providing a safe place for refugee children to play," said Datin Mina Cheah-Foong, managing director of The Body Shop Malaysia.

"Besides our Christmas contribution to International Alert, we did not forget about our fellow NGO's partners whom we have been working with over the years.

"The Body Shop Malaysia has contributed RM25,519 to Malaysian Aids Foundation from the sale of condoms in our stores, RM29,854 to Sisters In Islam and 29,498 to Women's Aid Organisation from the sale of Candles of Conscience."

The Body Shop Malaysia also donated RM400,000 to Wildlife Conservation Society through its Kick The Bag Habit campaign: funds are generated from the sale of The Body Shop paper bags (50 sen should customers need them, or 50 sen donated by The Body Shop if customers refuse a bag).

Cheah-Foong said: "Christmas is a time of giving, and it has never felt better when you get to help a community near you and also abroad. We have many gifts in our stores and online as well.

There is a gift for everyone. For every specially selected gift, you buy, know that you are providing a safe environment for a Syrian refugee child to heal through play for a year.

"So come into our stores today and play your part this Christmas!"
