Police nab drug peddler, seize syabu worth RM28,000

KEPALA BATAS: Police have arrested a labourer after seizing syabu worth RM28,160 at Jalan Kampung Paya.
According to North Seberang Prai district police chief ACP Noorzainy Mohd Noor, two policemen from the motorcycle patrol unit had cornered the 30-year-old suspect when they discovered the latter behaving suspiciously while astride his motorcycle about 12.45am on Sunday.
Noorzainy said based on initial investigation, police found the suspect holding a red plastic bag in his right hand.

"Police found that the plastic bag contained nine small packs of transparent material, which is believed to be syabu, with a weight of 352.22g.
"It was estimated to be worth about RM28,160 on the black market," he told reporters.
Noorzainy said police detained the suspect and seized the goods.
The suspect who was taken to the district police headquarters for further investigations tested positive for methamphetamine during a urine test.
"The police have remanded the suspect for seven days, until Dec 23," he said.
Noorzainy said the police would probe the case under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug trafficking and also Section 15(1)(a) of the same act for administering the drugs to himself.
