KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Raya Berhad (AmanahRaya) today signed the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR) with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in a bid to ensure that all the services rendered are free from elements of corruption.
Kuala Lumpur MACC director Datuk Han Chee Rull said the proactive initiative taken by Amanahraya was aimed at protecting its integrity and delivering the message to the public that the government-owned company was committed to being transparent in discharging its duties.
"To make it more credible, AmanahRaya can also take the next initiative by achieving the ISO 37001 standard, which is an international standard for the corruption prevention management system," he said at the signing ceremony here today.
Established in 1921 and formerly known as Department of Public Trustees and Official Administrator, AmanahRaya offers services covering estate administration, writing, keeping and implementation of wills and consulting services.
Malacca MACC director Abu Talib Othman said the Melaka government, led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron, was among the first few states which had answered MACC's call to take and sign the IBR.
"Congratulations Malacca! The process for all 27 federal government agencies and 47 state government agencies in the state to take and sign the IBR are now 100% completed," he said at the state government's monthly assembly at the Seri Negeri Complex, Ayer Keroh, here today.
Also present were Idris, the state Cabinet line-up and 500 state civil servants. — Bernama
