PETALING JAYA: Terrified by the brutal murder of a man in Johor Baru that was captured on video on Sunday night, Malaysians have called on the police to act swiftly and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Social media was abuzz with posts and comments of the incident that took place at a busy petrol station, with the suspects seemingly unperturbed by bystanders at the scene as they committed the crime.
Facebook user Lieza Zainudin said the longer the suspects remained at large, the more dangerous it was for the public.
She urged everyone to pray that the suspects would be nabbed soon and given the mandatory death sentence.
Another user, Rames Kumar, said this proved that the country was no longer a safe place for all, with the crime taking place at a busy location.
"Although we say our cops are swift and efficient, cases like these still happen openly. Does this show they (suspects) are those with power?" he posted.
On Twitter, describing the attack as "pure evil", user @JoyousAmal questioned if the perpetrators could have left Johor following the incident, urging the police to make sure they do not get away freely.
Another user @SyuhadaPayne said: "So scary to have watched the video of the murder. They were so daring to do it openly. I don't feel safe anymore."
@haqeeeetaaaa said: "Watching the video made me feel insecure about leaving the house. Darn it."
