KUALA LUMPUR: Minister of Federal Territories Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor is confident that the report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) by the Member of Parliament for Cheras, Tan Kok Wai, concerning the sale of government land in the federal capital can expose the truth of the issue.
He said the report by the opposition Member of Parliament was also perceived to be able to dismiss all slanders and allegations hurled against him and the government.
"I am thankful to Tan Kok Wai who had informed that he would be making a report to the MACC regarding his allegations against me and the Federal Territories Ministry concerning the sale of government land in Kuala Lumpur," he said in a statement today.
Tan was recently reported to be planning to lodge a report to the MACC concerning his allegation that the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) had sold 45 plots of land without open tender since Tengku Adnan became the Minister of Federal Territories.
Meanwhile, Tengku Adnan said he had asked real estate developers to lodge reports to the MACC concerning the action by several groups who were alleged to have made protests against the development that the government planned to implement in their areas and around the federal capital.
He said the protests were made with the intention of getting certain rewards from the developers.
"I will not compromise with the action of certain groups that went against the law and were intended for personal gains," he added. — Bernama
