Call for ban on sale of smallest mobile phones

THE world's smallest mobile phone is slightly bigger than a coin. Zanco Tiny T1 measures 46.7mm x 21mm x 12mm, and it weighs just 13kg.
Tiny T1 fits in a nano SIM card and has space for 300 contacts, 50 SMS messages and 50 last calls in or out records, as well as a keyboard.
Funded through Kickstarter, the Tiny T1 will sell for as low as £30 (RM163) for "early bird" investors.
Barely days after it was released on the Internet, the Justice Secretary of UK has called for a ban on its sale as it could be used to flout prison security measures.
The Mail Online today reported that David Lidington wants online retailers to stop selling the gadgets, which are no bigger than a cigarette lighter.
Officials said the mini phones are freely available on the internet and are designed to go undetected by body orifice security scanners that are in place in jails around England and Wales, the report said.
