KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded statements from 48 people to facilitate investigations into the incident where Dutch model Ivana Esther Robert Smit was found dead on the sixth floor of a condominium here.
Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Mazlan Lazim said the individuals comprised those from the condominium management staff, family members, security guards, pathologists, Ivana's friends, and the entertainment outlet management staff where she allegedly went for an outing.
"Police have also screened through all the closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) system footage from various locations where the 19-year-old victim was last seen before the incident," he said today.
Mazlan has also reaffirmed that the case has been classified as a sudden death and that police are still waiting for her post-moterm report from Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
"Police hope that the public will cooperate with the investigation and would not speculate unwanted information that would jeopardize the probe.
"We urge anyone with information including her acquaintances that can help in the case to come forward and contact investigative officer ASP Faizal Abdullah at 012-4834439 or Dang Wangi district CID chief DSP M. Gunalan at 019-3114418," he added.
