Two charred in two-vehicle collision on Plus Expressway

    MALACCA: Two individuals were burnt to death when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at the south bound KM205.5 North-South Expressway (Plus) here last night.
    State Fire and Rescue Department senior operations commander Assistant Senior Superintendent Mohd Khushairy Deraman said the driver and passenger were found charred and trapped in the car.
    "In the incident at about 10.30pm, the Proton Wira car driven by both victims was trapped under the lorry transporting 15 tonnes of soy sauce from Klang Port to Pasir Gudang, Johor," he said when contacted today.
    He said a fire engine and a water tanker were deployed with a team of seven firemen in the operations with the first victim extricated at 2.50am and the second one at 3.22am.
    The identities and gender of the two victims had yet to be ascertained due to the charred condition of the bodies, which had been sent to the Alor Gajah Hospital for post mortem. — Bernama
