Indonesian jailed six months for having stolen items

PETALING JAYA: An Indonesian cleaner was sentenced to six months' jail by the magistrate's court here today for possession of stolen items last month.
Identified only as Siti Hotijah, the woman pleaded guilty.
The 29-year-old stole five undergarments, nine shirts, four pants and two bags worth RM1,000, belonging to Haida Bakhtiar, 33.
She committed the offence at a shop in Kampung Sungai, Kayu Ara, Damansara near here at 2pm on Nov 4, and was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum jail sentence of five years or a fine, or both.
Magistrate Nurulhuda Zakariya ordered the single mother of one to serve the sentence from the date of her arrest on Nov 4. — Bernama
