SUNGAI PETANI: A 24-year-old man sustained severe injuries after being robbed and assaulted by a group of men at a factory site in Bukit Selambau last night.
Kuala Muda Police chief ACP Saifi Abdul Hamid said a police report on the incident was lodged by the man's father at 1.04am, after taking his son to seek medical treatment at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital.
"According to the father, his son returned home smeared in blood, with cuts on his cheek, arms and back, claiming to have been robbed and assaulted by several unknown men.

"Police also seized six motorcycles, a car, three machetes, a black jacket and two helmets believed to have been used during the incident," he said, adding that eight of the suspects have been remanded for a week from today and that the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code. — Bernama
