Perak DTCCM collects RM200k in compounds from January

IPOH: The Perak Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (DTCCM) has raised RM217,000 in compounds from various offences from January to Dec 21, up from RM158,355 for the corresponding period last year.
State DTCCM deputy director Shamsul Nizam Khalil said during the same period DTCCM also seized goods worth RM2.6 million, compared to RM1.45 million last year.
"The increases in compound and seizure this year are the result of inspection on 50,928 trading premises compared to 36,686 trading premises checked last year," he told reporters after launching the state level 2017 Christmas Festive Season Price Control Scheme, here today.
In the meantime, he said, out of the 11 items under the Price Control Scheme, seven items showed drops in prices, two were unchanged while another two showed increases.
"Goods that show increases in prices are local and imported mutton, prices that remain unchanged are for tomatoes and green peppers while items showing drops in prices include chickens, turkeys and chicken eggs," he said. — Bernama
