Malacca KPDNKK receives six reports on fake infant formula

KULAI: The sale of fake infant formula is not just confined to Johor, following revelation that the Malacca division of the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK), had received six complaints as of yesterday.
Meanwhile, Johor KPDNKK state chief Khairul Anwar Bachok said the department has so far received 16 complaints on the matter, as of Dec 21.
All 16 milk powder samples have been sent to chemistry department for analysis.
He said this after launching the Festive Season Price Control Scheme, at Ecosave in Taman Bintang Utama today.
Khairul said, after the fake infant formula story first surfaced on Dec 10, parents have become more cautious.
Off the 16 complaints, nine were from Johor Baru, six from Pontian and one from Batu Pahat.
Meanwhile, the Festive Season Price Control Scheme will be in effect from Dec 23-27.
There are 11 items in the list for Peninsular, including live chicken, standard chicken, super chicken, imported turkey, old live chicken, chicken eggs grade A, B and C, local boned mutton and imported boned mutton, tomatoes and green capsicums.
While live pig, pork belly, pork meat and fat are in the list for Sabah and Sarawak.
