BUKIT GANTANG: The third phase of the house-repair programme (Touch Point 2.0) for 100 houses here, will be completed by the middle of next month.
Bukit Gantang Umno Division chief Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal said the estimated RM1 million cost for the repairing project was part of the promises made by Barisan Nasional in the 13th General Election.
"The cost of repair for each house is RM10,000 and the recipients are selected through the e-Kasih list. The project is being implemented to champion the people.
"The houses are being repaired through a gotong-royong (mutual aid) programme and the project is expected to be completed before Jan 15," he told reporters at the launching of the 2017 Bukit Gantang Parliamentary constituency house repairing gotong-royong programme (Touch Point 2.0) at Kampung Setia, here today.
Syed Abu Hussin said another 170 houses would be repaired next year after obtaining approval from the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
"Before this we had implemented several Touch Point 1 and 2 projects through GiatMara involving nearly 200 houses," he added. — Bernama
