Three plead not guilty to falsifying marriage certificate

KUALA TERENGGANU: Three men, including two Terengganu Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT) staff, were charged in the Sessions Court here today, to accepting bribes to issue a fake marriage certificate and card from May to June.
JHEAT operations assistants Mohd Yazuan Yatim, 31, and Mohd Raduwan Abu Bakar, 43, and Eirman Yusdie Ahmad Hanafiah, 34, pleaded not guilty.
Mohd Yazuan and Mohd Raduwan faced two charges each while Eirman Yusdie, who is self-employed, faced three charges separately on the issuance of fake marriage certificate and card for couple, Muhammad Hasleezam Sabarudin and Nurzahidah Yacop.
The charges were read before Sessions judge Mohamad Haldar Abdul Aziz.
Under the first charge, Mohd Yazuan allegedly received a bribe of RM1,500 from second accused, namely, Mohd Raduwan an an incentive to obtain a fake marriage certificate and card from Eirman Yusdie (third accused) at the JHEAT office here in May.
Under the second charge, Mohd Yazuan was said to have received cash RM1,300 from the third accused which was delivered by Mohd Raduwan.
The money was given as incentive to hand over the marriage certificate and card at the Mydin Mall Food Court here at 5.35pm, on June 19.
Mohd Raduwan was charged with receiving a RM2,000 bribe from Nurzahidah which was banked into his account as incentive to obtain a fake marriage certificate and card at the Bank Rakyat Paya Keladi branch's automated teller machine here at 4.05pm on May 24.
Under the second charge, Mohd Raduwan was said to have received a RM1,000 bribe from Muhammad Hasleezam as incentive to hand over a fake marriage certificate and card at the Mydin Mall Food Court here at 12.30pm on June 19.
Meanwhile, Eirman Yusdie faced a charge of accepting a RM900 bribe from Mohd Yazuan as incentive to prepare a fake marriage certificate and card here in May.
Under the second charge, he was charged with receiving a RM1,300 bribe from the first accused as "fee" for preparing and handing over the fake marriage certificate and card at Warong Pak Maidin, Pantai Batu Burok here at 8.40pm on June 19.
All the charges were made under Section 16(a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission 2009.
Meanwhile, Eirman Yusdie also faced a third charge of falsifying the marriage certificate and card of Muhammad Hasleezam and Nurzahidah to make it appear as if they were issued by the Pahang Islamic Religious Department at Kampung Paloh and Kedai Iklan SS Aniwarna Enterprise, Jalan Sultan Omar here in May and June.
Mohamad Haldar fixed re-mention of the case on Nov 15.
Earlier, he allowed Mohd Yazuan and Mohd Raduwan to be given bail of RM5,000 and RM7,000 each, in one surety, while Eirman Yusdie was given RM10,000 bail in one surety.
