MetMalaysia issues 'danger' weather warning over torrential rain

PETALING JAYA: A 'danger' weather warning has been issued by the Meteorological Department in Pahang and Johor following a forecast of a torrential downpour.

The department said the rainfall, accompanied with strong winds, is expected to occur over the Pekan and Rompin districts in Pahang, and the Segamat and Mersing districts in Johor until Tuesday.
Severe heavy rain with strong winds is also expected to lash several other areas over the two states.
Kuantan, Maran and Bera in Pahang, as well as Kluang in Johor, will be experiencing the severe rain until Tuesday, according to the warning released on the department's website.
Meanwhile, heavy rain is also expected to occur over several areas in the states of Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Negri Sembilan and Melaka, until Tuesday.
In Sabah, heavy rain is expected in Kudat, Sandakan and the west coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
