Man goes to jail for raping nephew, two other men facing charges in separate incest cases

SUNGAI PETANI: An unemployed man was sentenced by the sessions court here to four years jail and two strokes of the rotan for sexually assaulting his nephew last year.
The man pleaded guilty to the offence when the charge was read to him before judge N. Priscilla Hemamalini today.
The 22-year-old man was found guilty of forcing the seven-year-old boy to perform oral sex on him on Nov 15 last year. The act took place at 10pm at a house in Taman Aman Perwira, Kuala Ketil.
The man was charged under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which was read together with Section 16 of the same Act.
Priscilla ordered the jail sentence to begin from the date of his arrest on Dec 23 last year.
Meanwhile, at the same court, two men claimed trial to two separate charges of raping their own daughters last year.
The first accused, a 49-year-old labourer, was charged with raping his daughter at a house in Mukim Jeneri, on Sept 20 at 10am. He was also charged with sexually assaulting the girl at the same house on Dec 22 at 9pm.
The second accused, aged 59, was charged with raping his 14-year-old daughter at a house in Kuala Ketil on Dec 21 at 1am.
The duo could face up to 30 years jail and whipping for raping their daughters under Section 376B of the Penal Code.
The labourer, who is charged under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for sexually assaulting his daughter, could also face another 20 years jail and whipping if found guilty.
Priscilla set Feb 5 for mention for the 59-year-old man, and Feb 6 for mention for the labourer.
Deputy public prosecutor Savinder Singh prosecuted all the cases.
