Scomi shares fall after merger plans fail

    PETALING JAYA: Shares of Scomi Group Bhd tumbled two sen or 11.11% this morning, after its three-way merger proposal fell through as shareholders of its energy unit Scomi Energy Services Bhd (SESB) rejected the offer yesterday.
    At 10.21am, the stock which was among the top active counters, stood at 16 sen with 26.1 million shares changing hands.
    Its engineering unit Scomi Engineering Bhd (SEB) is due to hold its meeting at 2.30pm today, for its shareholders to vote on the proposal.
    Both SESB and SEB gained 11.11% and 2% to 15 sen and 25.5 sen respectively at 10.21am.
