Cop nab two suspects following botched robbery attempt

KLANG: Police detained two men on Saturday following a botched attempt to rob a man in Bandar Botanik here.
South Klang district police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli said in the 2am incident, two assailants approached the 26-year-old victim with a car, as the victim was walking towards his car which was parked opposite Liberty Restaurant here.
"The duo in their 20s stopped their vehicle and tried to snatch the victim's sling bag.
"The suspects failed to rob him. However, the victim was beaten with a wood stick and broke his fingers," he said today.
The victim subsequently lodged a police report and police nabbed the two men within hours after the botched robbery at Jalan Gedung Raja Abdullah here at 11.30pm.
"Police seized a car and a cane which was used by the robbers during the incident," he added.
The suspects have been remanded and the case is being investigated under Section 393 of the Penal Code for attempted robbery.
