Two motorcyclists killed in NNKSB expressway accident

SHAH ALAM: Two men were killed and three others injured in the accident involving seven motorcycles at KM7.2 on the New North Klang Straits Bypass (NNKSB) Expressway, Klang near here yesterday afternoon.
Klang North district police chief ACP Mazelan Paijan said in the 6.50 pm incident, two motorcyclists identified as Badrul Ikhwan Noor Kamalizan, 20, and Muhammad Shafik Mohd Idris, 21, died at the scene due to severe head injuries.
"The other three injured riders are currently being treated at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) Klang while information on the other two remaining motorcyclists involved is still unavailable," he said in a statement here today.
Mazelan said the initial investigation found that all the victims were from Shah Alam and on the way to the North Port, and they were all speeding before grazing each other that resulted in two victims' motorcycles skidding before crashing onto the metal barrier.
"Investigations are still ongoing and all the families have been notified. The post-mortem on both victims have been conducted this morning and the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987," he said. — Bernama
