KUALA LUMPUR: Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong is not perturbed by the viral videos of his speech in Mandarin.
Instead, he said, he would burn the midnight oil to ensure that he improved his Mandarin proficiency.
Mah, who is also Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, was responding to the viral video of his speech during a joint rally with MCA last week.
In the 40-minutes plus speech, he had reportedly made several mistakes in a few lines leaving the audience amused.
It was reported that during the MCA-Gerakan "Stronger Together" rally on Jan 6, Mah had mistakenly used "bullets" instead of "eggs" and "tide" instead of "peak" in Mandarin.

"I'm not Chinese educated but I accept that I still have a lot to learn. I accept my mistakes during the rally," Mah said after attending a Malaysian Palm Oil Council event today.
He said some people chose to focus on the mistaken lines in the speech instead of focusing on the actual content which was on unity.
