Perak MB launch 10 initiatives to improve civil service delivery

IPOH: Perak Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir spelt out 10 initiatives for the state administration in the new year to improve its service delivery.
He said emphasis would be placed on coordination and cooperation between the state government departments and the federal level.
In his speech at the Executive Talk and New Year message here today, he touched on the usage of Bahasa Malaysia as the official language by government departments and agencies.
"All government correspondence and public announcements must be in Bahasa Malaysia," he added.
Recently the improper use of English to make an announcement posted on the Tourist Information Center here went viral and drew flak from netizens.
"This is a lesson learnt and all those involved must take the necessary steps to ensure such mistakes will not recur," he added.
Later at another function, Ipoh Mayor Datuk Zamri Man said the Ipoh City Council's disciplinary committee would look into the incident, whether it was intentional or otherwise.
"If the incident had marred the image then there are provisions to take action against those responsible.
"Staff have been called by the committee to give an explanation ... the investigation is still ongoing," he added.
